About us
The wax amaryllis is a flower that grows and blooms beautifully without water or soil. If you want it to sprout and flower now, place it where it is light and warm. After about 3-4 weeks, the flowers should appear. If you want to give an amaryllis before it has flowered, you can delay this process. Place it where it is cool (at least 4 degrees) and dark and it will go dormant. Now, while it is in the wax, it does not need water, it will release the flowers from what it has accumulated before it was drained. It is a perennial so do not throw it out after flowering. Once the wax has been removed, pot it up and give it a good shake. Look after it as you would a houseplant, it is not pampered. However, in autumn it should stop watering, cut off the leaves and put it somewhere dark and cool, and it should have a good rest before the next flowering. Bring it back into a bright and warm room in December and water it. After a while, it will again produce flowers.
